Ariel P. Smith, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist based in Houston, TX. She completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University and received her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at George Washington University. Her research interests have primarily focused on mental health help-seeking and suicide prevention in the African American community.
Over the course of her clinical experience, Dr. Ariel has worked in a variety of settings including academic medical centers, psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, community mental health clinics, and federally-qualified health centers. She has specific expertise in the intersections of mental and physical health and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology. Further, as a Black woman and advocate for social justice and equity in health care, Dr. Ariel brings both her lived and professional experience to her practice.
